A Visit From The Tooth Fairy!

Who would have thought the tooth fairy would make an appearance in your very own neighborhood without adhering to her usual nighttime, incognito approach? While she is certainly known for leaving gifts behind for baby teeth that have recently fallen out, did you know she has some serious dental care wisdom to share, as well? If you missed her, we were fortunate enough to catch her in action! As for the helpful information she passed on about how to protect your smiles (and your children’s smiles, as well), we paid close attention and are very pleased to share it.

What The Tooth Fairy Suggests For Adults

The tooth fairy hopes you’ve been a good adult. Since kids are supposed to lose teeth but you aren’t, she has some dental care suggestions that will keep your smile healthy and intact:

  • Brush twice a day (don’t give into the urge to skip either session)
  • Floss daily (again, no skipping!)
  • Find ways to make care fun, such as listening to music during dental hygiene
  • Remember that seeing your dentist twice a year is absolutely necessary

What She Recommends For Little Ones

The tooth fairy has some serious suggestions for younger smiles. When it comes to dental care, she explains that it’s a two-part experience. The first part includes you, Mom or Dad, making the decision to bring your little one in for essential pediatric care. Sealants are extremely helpful in protecting young teeth, as are fluoride treatments. As for the care that happens at home, she recommends the following simple-to-follow details for little ones:

  • Make sure your child has a children’s toothbrush with soft bristles
  • Always choose fluoridated children’s toothpaste for little ones to make brushing enjoyable (grown-up flavors are often too overpowering)
  • Help your children establish good habits by brushing twice daily and flossing once daily (sticking to a schedule will help solidify dental hygiene as a regular part of your child’s day)
